"The Energy is Limitless", Dr. Watts Leads the Way on the First Day of School

Watts: Literally, the sky is the limit. The energy is limitless. How are you? Do you know how? It is an amazing first day of school. Every day.

Howard-Hall: As a former teacher, we always look forward to the first day of school and the sound. The bell just lets us know that it's time to get started, to grow and learn together.

Moss: You know, for these kids, it's like walking into Wonderland.

Slats: It's the district's newest school, the Davis Edwards Harris Educational Complex in Garden City, housing Mercer Middle School and Groves High School.

Moss: And you want a building that kids want to come to. And having this brand new, you know, technologically sound building.

Howard-Hall: So to be able to come in to a brand new school and have a brand new start is just exciting and exhilarating, and we just can't wait to see what this year homes for our students.

NatSound: I that in my pocket it's on my feet.

Watts: What are some of your goals for this school year? Being good grades. Getting good grades. I need to be where the heartbeat of our school is, right? Where our teachers are. Our principals, our students, our families on the first day of school and the opportunity to experience that is what the first day of school is all about.

Bringman: Our job is to hear from students, teachers, and all the staff. And if we're not on in the community, then we can't take those thoughts back to the superintendent and district staff to make sure that we can make all of our schools the best they can be.

Watts: And so just being side by side and need a need with them reminds us all of the joy of education. So it's, a great first day, great energy. Our students are excited and I am the most excited, of course.

Slats: From Georgetown to Garden City and throughout all of Chatham County, school is in session. I'm ready for that. Reporting for SEC. I'm Ken Slats.
