Growing Through Learning to Transform Schools

George DeRenne Middle School Assistant Principal Marissa Johnson has been selected for the Learning Forward Academy Class of 2028, a nationally recognized leadership program focused on improving teaching, learning, and student outcomes.

Over the next two and a half years, Mrs. Johnson will collaborate with educators from across the country while focusing on her Problem of Practice, strengthening Tier I supports to create engaging classrooms, reduce first-time discipline referrals, and improve student success.

Mrs. Johnson is grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and bring research-based practices back to George DeRenne Middle School. Her goal is to help build proactive systems that empower teachers, support students, and create lasting, positive change throughout the school community.
